“Vici-Aistes” Kaunas (LTU) beat “BC Horizont” Minsk (BLR) 79-66 (23-10, 21-27, 17-14, 18-15) in the final of the Baltic Women's Basketball League Championship on Saturday to defend their title.

 

“Vici-Aistes” led 44-37 at halftime and 61-51 after third quarter. In the 36th minute “BC Horizont” cut the deficit to four points (64-68). But then team from Lithuania scored 11 points and “BC Horizont” only two.

 

“Vici-Aistes”: Tatsiana Likhtarovich 24, Lina Pikciute 12 (8 rebounds), Vita Kuktiene 12, Milda Sauliute 9.

 

“BC Horizont”: Tatyana Troina 19 (9 rebounds, 5 turnovers), Natalia Anufryenka 16, Nadzeya Nadzezhka 13, Sviatlana Valko 9.

 

 

"Olimpia" Grodno (BLR) won third-place match over “Minsk 2006” (BLR) 76-65 (17-10, 12-28, 27-18, 20-9).

 

“Olimpia”: Alina Iordan 18, Maria Papova 14, Anna Pokoiova 11 (9 rebounds), Katsiaryna Kashlei 10.

 

“Minsk 2006”: Volha Istseliatsova 18, Alesia Lalovic 14, Zhanna Haradzetskaya 14.

 

 

“BC Horizont” beat “Minsk 2006” 61-57 (13-9, 20-12, 15-21, 13-15) in the first semifinal game and then “Vici-Aistes” won over “Olimpia” 83-72 (21-29, 26-17, 15-12, 21-14).

 

The Final Four tournament was held in Lida (BLR).

15 teams from Belarus, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Ukraine took part in the 18th BWBL championship.
